Crawley has an abundance of different restaurants throughout the town, each with a loyal fanbase.
These range from fancy Indian restaurants to Afghan cuisine; it’s clear that there are plenty of options to suit every different customer.
However, no more than ever, a restaurant’s online reputation can be make or break.

The worst rated chippy in Crawley was reportedly The Master Fryer on Pound Hill Parade – so I decided to visit and see why people didn’t rate it highly.

The restaurant has a three star rating, which isn’t a complete disaster.
Some reviews were even complimentary calling it the “best around” and “cooked to perfection.”
The bad reviews were particularly bad however, with one unhappy customer saying: “Positively disgusting. Would not feed to my hounds,” and another calling it an “absolute shambles.”
I went in with an open mind keen to enjoy one of Britain’s delicacies.
