Google has recently rolled out some major changes in the interface of its video calling service — Google Meet. With this update Google aims to make settings and features more accessible to the users.
With a new UI in place, Google has also changed the positioning and layout of the entire UI altogether. You will now notice a new bar at the bottom which will remain visible during the entire video call. This bar will allow you to access all the options without having to search for them inside the Settings menu.
One such helpful feature of Google Meet is ‘Captions’. With Google meeting room hardware, you can make it easier to follow what’s being said in a meeting by turning on captions, which show text of the conversation.
Note: If you record a video meeting, you don’t record captions. They don’t appear when you play the recording.
