Google has partnered with notable Black entertainers and businesses across the country to reimagine Black Friday as “Black-owned Friday.”
It’s the second year the tech giant has partnered with the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. to do such a campaign.
This year, 55 businesses are involved and can be shopped in an interactive Black-Owned Friday film, soundtracked by a new song from T-Pain and Normani.
While watching the film, which can be seen here, or on YouTube, items that appear to be the background of the film or used as décor are spotlighted as a pop-up.
If you click on one of these highlighted items, the film gets paused and you’re able to shop the item directly from the vendor’s website.
More on holiday shopping:
The items for sale range from hair products to books and artwork.
“I was thrilled when Google reached out about the second annual Black-owned Friday,” T-Pain said in a blog post announcing the initiative.
“I’m proud to join Google and the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. for another year of encouraging shoppers to support Black-owned businesses.”
